Kinda makes me sad. I love that phrase.
The phrase was basically 'invented' to let the audience know that no matter how much they screamed or pleaded, he wasn't coming back out, hence the 'left the building' bit.
Super-irony points for being killed on his way back from a n Elvis convention.
